Step 1: Unlock Your Domain at Your Current Registrar

Before transferring your domain, you need to unlock it at your current domain provider and get the Authorization Code (EPP code).

  • Log in to your current domain registrar’s account.

  • Go to your domain management or DNS settings.

  • Find the domain you want to transfer and unlock it (disable domain lock/privacy).

  • Request or copy the Authorization Code or EPP code—this is required for domain transfer.

Note: If you are having trouble accessing the EPP code from Zarla domain, you can email hello@zarla.com to retrieve this.

Step 2: Log in to Your GoDaddy Account

  • Go to GoDaddy.com and sign in to your existing account or create a new account.

Step 3: Go to the Domain Transfer Page on GoDaddy

Step 4: Enter Your Domain Name

  • Type the domain name you want to transfer in the search box.

  • GoDaddy will check if the domain is unlocked and eligible for transfer.

Step 5: Enter Authorization Code

  • When prompted, enter the Authorization Code (EPP code) you obtained from your current registrar.

Step 6: Confirm Domain Contact Details and Privacy

  • Review the domain contact information to ensure it is correct.

  • Domain Privacy Protection will be turned off during the transfer to allow contact info to be shared.

Step 7: Complete Transfer Purchase

  • Pay the domain transfer fee (GoDaddy typically charges a transfer fee which often includes one year of domain renewal).

  • Complete the checkout process.

Step 8: Approve Transfer Request

  • You will receive an email at the domain’s administrative contact email with a transfer approval link.

  • Approve the transfer within the time frame provided (usually a few days).

Step 9: Wait for Transfer Completion

  • Domain transfers usually take 5–7 days to complete unless the current registrar approves the transfer earlier.

  • You can track the transfer status in your GoDaddy account under your domain list.

Important Notes

  • Domains cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or recent transfers.

  • Disable any domain privacy or protection before transfer.

  • Verify your identity if GoDaddy asks for two-step verification.
