Using a domain registered at AWS or Amazon Registrar

To connect your domain, your website must be published and active. If it’s unpublished, go to your site, click ‘Go Live,’ and subscribe.

  1. Sign in to your AWS Management Console.

  2. From the AWS Console, search for “Route 53” in the search bar.

  3. Click on Route 53 → then select Hosted Zones in the left-hand menu.

  4. Choose the domain name you want to connect to your Zarla website.

  5. Add the A Record

  6. Click Create record.

  7. Choose Simple routing → then click Next.

  8. Under Record name, leave it blank (this connects your root domain, e.g., yourdomain.com).

  9. Select Record type: A – Routes traffic to an IPv4 address.

  10. In the Value field, enter Zarla’s IP address: 66.45.103.234

  11. Click Create records to save it.

  12. Add the CNAME Record

  13. Click Create record again.

  14. Under Record name, type www

  15. Select Record type: CNAME.

  16. In the Value field, enter your Zarla domain target: custom.zarla.com

  17. Click Create records to save it.

Important Note:

  • For Root domain with name @ (example.com):

    • Only one A record should exist.

    • There should be no AAAA record (this is rare, but if present, it can break SSL certificates).

  • For www subdomain (www.example.com):

    • Should have only one CNAME record (pointing to the correct target www).

    • If any A, AAAA, or additional CNAME records exist, they must be deleted.
