Using a domain registered at Domain.Com

To connect your domain, your website must be published and active. If it’s unpublished, go to your site, click ‘Go Live,’ and subscribe.

Step 1: Log in to Domain.com

  1. Log in to your account.


Step 2: Open DNS Settings

  1. From your account dashboard, click Domains.

  2. Select the domain you want to connect to Zarla.

  3. Click DNS & Nameservers (or Manage DNS depending on layout).


A RECORD SETUP (Required)

Step 3: Find and Remove Existing A Records

  1. Scroll to the A Records section.

  2. Delete any existing A records that point to IPs unrelated to Zarla (to avoid conflicts).


Step 4: Add Zarla’s A Record

Click Add DNS Record and enter:

  • Type: A

  • Host: @

  • Points to / Answer: 66.45.103.234

  • TTL: Default (usually 1 hour)

Click Add or Save.


CNAME RECORD SETUP (Required)

Step 5: Add Zarla’s CNAME Record

Click Add DNS Record and enter:

  • Type: CNAME

  • Host: www

  • Points to / Answer: custom.zarla.com

  • TTL: Default

Click Add or Save.

Important Note:

  • For Root domain with name @ (example.com):

    • Only one A record should exist.

    • There should be no AAAA record (this is rare, but if present, it can break SSL certificates).

  • For www subdomain (www.example.com):

    • Should have only one CNAME record (pointing to the correct target www).

    • If any A, AAAA, or additional CNAME records exist, they must be deleted.
