Step 1) Log in to HostGator cPanel

  • Sign in to your HostGator account

  • Open cPanel

Step 2) Open the DNS editor

  • In cPanel, go to Domains

  • Click Zone Editor or Advanced DNS Zone Editor (name can vary by HostGator layout) HostGator

Step 3) Select your domain

  • Choose the domain you want to connect to Zarla from the list/dropdown.

Step 4) Find the CNAME for www

Step 5) Edit it (or add it if it doesn’t exist)

Set it to:

  • Type: CNAME

  • Name / Host: www

  • Target / Value / Points to: custom.zarlasites.com

  • TTL: Default (or Auto)

  • Save the record.

Step 6) Find the A record for the root

Look for:

  • @ or yourdomain.com (Type: A)

Step 7) Edit it (or add it if it doesn’t exist)

Set it to:

  • Type: A

  • Name / Host: @

  • Address / Value / Points to: 109.105.219.109

  • TTL: Default (or Auto)

  • Save the record.

Step 8) Remove conflicting records

To avoid issues, delete any old/conflicting records like:

  • Any other A records for @ pointing somewhere else

  • Any CNAME for www pointing somewhere else.

Note: If you see any other A name record and CNAME records that uses the same host/alias of @ for A name or www for CNAME except the Zarla records we want you to add, please delete those other ones.

Once you've finished all those steps, please let us know and we'll check that it is all pointed correctly and set your domain live.
