Using a domain registered at Namecheap

To connect your domain, your website must be published and active. If it’s unpublished, go to your site, click ‘Go Live,’ and subscribe.

Updated this week

First, log into your Namecheap account using this link: Log in here

Once you're logged in, you will need to add a CNAME record and an A record for your domain.

These articles from Namecheap include screenshots showing how to navigate to the "Add New Record" area for your domain:

1. How to add a CNAME
2. How to add an A record

Follow the steps in the first article to add a new CNAME. When entering your new CNAME info, put www in the Host field, and custom.zarla.com into the Value field and click save all changes.

Then follow the steps in the 2nd article to add a new A record (it will be very similar to the CNAME).

However, for the A record, put @ in the Host field, and 66.45.103.234 in the Value field and click save all changes.

Important Note:

  • For Root domain with name @ (example.com):

    • Only one A record should exist.

    • There should be no AAAA record (this is rare, but if present, it can break SSL certificates).

  • For www subdomain (www.example.com):

    • Should have only one CNAME record (pointing to the correct target www).

    • If any A, AAAA, or additional CNAME records exist, they must be deleted.

Once both A name and CNAME have been added, please contact our Customer Success Team.
