Log in to your Fasthosts account
Select Domain Names from the Hosting & Domains menu.
Click on the domain you want to change.
Click Configure Advanced DNS on the Advanced DNS tile
A list of DNS records will display, organized by type:
Create: Click the button (e.g., Add A Record) to add a new record.
Edit: Click the Edit button next to an existing record to modify it.
Remove: Click the Remove button for any record you wish to delete.
Edit or Add an A Record
A Records section, you can either edit an existing record or add a new one:
To edit: Click on the existing A record you want to change.
To add a new record: Click "Add A Record".
Fill in the following details:
Host Name: Leave blank
Points To: Enter the IP 66.45.103.234 (Zarla’s IP address).
Save the changes.
Edit or Add a CNAME Record
CNAME Records section, you can either edit an existing record or add a new:
To edit: Click on the CNAME record you need to update.
To add a new record: Click "Add CNAME Record".
Fill in the following details:
Host Name: Type www
Points To: custom.zarla.com
Save the changes.
DNS changes may take between 1 to 4 hours to fully propagate across the internet.
Important Note:
For Root domain with name @ (example.com):
Only one A record should exist.
There should be no AAAA record (this is rare, but if present, it can break SSL certificates).
For www subdomain (www.example.com):
Should have only one CNAME record (pointing to the correct target www).
If any A, AAAA, or additional CNAME records exist, they must be deleted.
