Using a domain registered at Fasthost

To connect your domain, your website must be published and active. If it’s unpublished, go to your site, click ‘Go Live,’ and subscribe.

  1. Log in to your Fasthosts account

  2. Select Domain Names from the Hosting & Domains menu.

  3. Click on the domain you want to change.

  4. Click Configure Advanced DNS on the Advanced DNS tile

  5. A list of DNS records will display, organized by type:

    1. Create: Click the button (e.g., Add A Record) to add a new record.

    2. Edit: Click the Edit button next to an existing record to modify it.

    3. Remove: Click the Remove button for any record you wish to delete.

  6. Edit or Add an A Record

    1. A Records section, you can either edit an existing record or add a new one:

      1. To edit: Click on the existing A record you want to change.

      2. To add a new record: Click "Add A Record".

    2. Fill in the following details:

      1. Host Name: Leave blank

      2. Points To: Enter the IP 109.105.219.109 (Zarla’s IP address).

    3. Save the changes.

  7. Edit or Add a CNAME Record

    1. CNAME Records section, you can either edit an existing record or add a new:

      1. To edit: Click on the CNAME record you need to update.

      2. To add a new record: Click "Add CNAME Record".

    2. Fill in the following details:

      1. Host Name: Type www

      2. Points To: custom.zarlasites.com

    3. Save the changes.

  8. DNS changes may take between 1 to 4 hours to fully propagate across the internet.
