Using a domain registered at Design.com

To correctly configure DNS records on Design.com domains to link with Zarla websites, ensuring the site resolves properly.

Step 1) Log in to Design.com

Step 2) Open your domain’s DNS manager

  • Go to Domains

  • Find your domain

  • Click Actions

  • Click Manage

  • Look for DNS Records and choose Add New Record

Step 3) Add the A record (root domain)

Create a new record with:

  • Type: A

  • Host/Name: @

  • Points to / Value: 66.45.103.234

  • TTL: Default

  • Click Save.

Step 4) Add the CNAME record (www)

Create another record with:

  • Type: CNAME

  • Host/Name: www

  • Points to / Value: custom.zarla.com

  • TTL: Default

  • Click Save.

Important Note:

  • For Root domain with name @ (example.com):

    • Only one A record should exist.

    • There should be no AAAA record (this is rare, but if present, it can break SSL certificates).

  • For www subdomain (www.example.com):

    • Should have only one CNAME record (pointing to the correct target www).

    • If any A, AAAA, or additional CNAME records exist, they must be deleted.
